I am a Research Economist in the Department of Economics and Finance at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have been at the Institute for Advanced Studies since 2000, when I joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor. Before that I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Aarhus, Denmark between 1997 and 2000. I received my Master's and Ph.D. in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992 and 1997, respectively, and my B.A. in Economics from Carleton College, Minn. in 1990.
